Companies will come up with just about anything as long as they can make something for the iPod. This time its a solar powered iPod charger.

Disruptive Technology Channels, a UK-based distributor of consumer electronics products and owner of the PodGear™ brand of iPod™ accessories, today announced that it is distributing the Solio™ — a portable charger and battery back-up for the iPod that charges its internal battery from its ergonomically designed solar panels, or the mains.

Tom Dudderidge, managing director, Disruptive Technology Channels, commented: "The Solio is a fantastic accessory for any serious iPod user. Using its solar panels or mains adaptor, it can store enough power for a complete iPod battery recharge. This means that iPod users will never have to worry about battery life again when they are on the move!"

Charge your SOLIO from mains power; or use the highly efficient, windproof and weather proof, solar cells (patent pending) to generate energy from natural sunlight; and store it in the high capacity integrated Lithium Ion battery.

It takes just 4 hours of mains power or 8-10 hours of direct sunlight to fully charge the empty internal battery.  This is enough for a full re-charge of your iPod.
