If your main problem with your iPod or Bluetooth-capable music player is that you can't hear it...Kleer's Cy-Fi portable speaker may be for you.

It's true: iPods and Bluetooth-enabled portable media players can be great things for folks who are on the go and need to take their music with them all the time. But—dang. Headphones just aren't comfy—or appropriate—everywhere. Wouldn't it be great if there was some portable, decent-sounding way to get that music out into real air for times headphones don't make the grade?

Kleer Technology claims to have the solution in the Cy-Fi, a portable, easily-mountable speaker for either iPods or Bluetooth devices that claims to offer CD-quality wireless audio. The Cy-Fi is designed to be mounted on, say, bike handlebars, lashed to a backpack, or maybe attached to a deck or boat railing: it weighs less than four ounces and has a wireless range of up to 30 feet. The speaker system uses Kleer's patented "sub-sampling" radio architecture to offer lossless audio without running through battery power—Kleer says the Cy-Fi can run for more than six hours. The speaker also includes controls that enable users to change volume, tracks, and playlists.

Kleer plans to offer two versions of the Cy-Fi, one for iPods and one for A2DP Bluetooth devices, and should be available for sale online September 22 for $179.99 (Bluetooth version) and $199.95 (iPod version). And each version will be available in red, black, or silver.
