Microsoft-AOL To Merge Online Divisions?

July 18, 2008 | by Christopher Nickson

Reports are that Microsoft is talking to AOL about merging the online divisions of the two companies.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that Microsoft and AOL have met this week to discuss the possibility of merging their online divisions. The paper says that the two companies have been in talks for several months, as Microsoft looks for an alternative deal to Yahoo.

However, no deal with AOL has been hammered out yet.

To compound the problem, Yahoo is also supposedly in talks with AOL.

Microsoft offered no comment.
