Who Is The U.K.'s Most-Spammed Man?

July 07, 2008 | by Christopher Nickson

A new study reveals that three of the five most-spammed people in the UK all use the same ISP — Orange — with one man averaging 44,000 spam mails every single day.

Feel sorry for Colin Wells. He’s a workshop foreman in Exeter, England, and he has the misfortune to be the UK’s most-spammed man, with an average of 44,000 spam mails blocked from his inbox every single day – that’s around 16 million spam mails each year, according to anti-spam software company ClearMyMail. Until the spam was blocked, he was spending two hours a day simply deleting it.

He uses Orange as his ISP, as does the runner-up for the dubious title, who only receives 13,578 pieces of spam a day. ClearMyMail could see no connection between the ISP and the amount of spam, however.

It sounds like he's making no attemts to reduce the amount of spam he receives, maybe he likes the attention and thinks its a contest.
