BT Splashes Out On German IT Firms

British Telecom is purchasing a pair of German IT companies, Stemmer and SND, which are the enterprise IT wing of net AG, the software distribution company.
British Telecom (BT) has forked out an undisclosed amount to buy a pair of German IT companies. The two, Stemmer and SND, together form the enterprise IT wing of net AG, the software distribution company, and has combined assets worth over $15 million. Together they offer a range of services, from IP telephony to video surveillance.
François Barrault, chief executive of BT Global Services, said:
"This transaction will complement BT's strengths in the German market and we will be able to offer our customers an even broader portfolio of end-to-end networked IT services."
