Google Continues To Rule UK Searches
June 12, 2008 | by Christopher Nickson
Google's massive dominance of the UK search market continued during May, according to the latest figures, with all the others left far, far behind.
Competitors can’t hold a candle to Google when it comes to UK searches, according to the latest figures from Hitwise. The search giant continued to dominate the market, with 87.3% of all web searches conducted in Britain during May.
By contrast, the best Yahoo could manage was 4.09% (down from 8.58% in April), Microsoft 3.72%, down from 5.46%, and Ask.com 3.07%, falling from 4.96%.
Google’s figures were also down from its 87.69% in April.
It doesn’t have as strong as stranglehold on the US market, where the latest figures show 68.29% of all searches went through Google.
