The WB Returns — This Time It's Online

April 30, 2008 | by Christopher Nickson

Warner Bros. is resurrecting its TV network online, with reruns and original programming.

Like many others, you might have breathed a sigh of relief when Warner Bros. television network, The WB, vanished more than a year ago after merging with UPN to the channel known as The CW.

But The WB won’t lie down and die. The company is resurrecting it as a website next month, when the beta of TheWB.com goes online. Like its predecessor, the site will target the 16-34 demographic, with an emphasis on young women.

The content will include new shows created for the site as well as some of the popular shows from the channel, which could well mean reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Smallville.

Once it’s up and running, the site will offer a Facebook app to integrate content into a user’s Facebook account. The company has also launched KidsWB.com, a site aimed at younger users.
