March 24, 2006 | by Nino Marchetti

Buena Vista Games announces plans to develop the hit ABC series into a PC game which puts players in the role of a new housewive living on Wisteria Lane.

You knew this one was coming. Buena Vista Games today announced it was working with video game developer Liquid Entertainment of PC game Dragonshard fame to develop a PC title based on the hit television show Desperate Housewives. The game is set to debut this fall.

In Desperate Housewives, said Buena Vista Games, "players take on the role of a new housewife who moves into Wisteria Lane and unlocks the delicious scandals hidden in the seemingly ‘perfect' neighborhood". Brenda Strong will reprise her familiar role from the "Desperate Housewives" series as the voice of deceased housewife Mary Alice Young, who serves as the show's narrator in each episode.

"Buena Vista Games is proud to partner with ABC Entertainment and Touchstone Television to bring the popular 'Desperate Housewives' franchise to fans and gamers," said Graham Hopper, senior vice president and general manager, Buena Vista Games, in a statement. "This game allows players to move to Wisteria Lane and live all the gossip, drama and intrigue of a true desperate housewife."

What's sad is that no guy will want to buy this game, and there are not enough women out there that play games to justify spending money making a game like this. The end result is an instant bomb.

I agree. The only way this would be fun is if you could actually get your frustrations out on the game when forced to watch the show with your wife/gf/significant other.
