EA Delivers Black to Retail

First person shooter developed by Criterion Games looks to set new standards in its genre and is rated M for strong language and violence.
Electronic Arts yesterday announced that their first person shooter Black was now available in retail stores for purchase. The game is available for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox for $39.95.
In Black, EA said, gamers play the role of a sergeant who is the leader of a "Black Operations" team sent to Europe to hunt down a traitor. The game, which has a Mature rating from the ESRB due to strong language and violence, promises to deliver "Hollywood-style gun battles and destruction set against the modern war on terror". Nearly everything in Black can be destroyed by weapons fire and Criterion Games, developer, has the intent of making this title offer the "loudest, most thrilling weapons and gunplay" ever found in first person shooter.
"Guns are loud, exhilarating and utterly terrifying things," said Alex Ward, creative director, Criterion Games, in a statement. "BLACK delivers a deep shooting experience that captures the paralyzing sensation of pulling the trigger of dangerous and exotic automatic weapons."
